Lending a Hand to Feed the Need

When was the last time you enjoyed a movie in the theater, spent the afternoon shopping or just caught up with friends over drinks? Each of these fun activities probably took at least a couple hours. What would you say if we told you that a couple hours of your time could change the life of a child for an entire year? If you’re like us, that fact would get you pretty excited.

Marketing to Women, A Sports Drink to Smile About

There’s a new sports drink on the market and we’re all excited about it! We know, you’re probably thinking “what? Excited about a sports drink?” but trust us! This is not your ordinary sports drink.

One Ten Hydrade is a line of products from two Tennessee entrepreneurs who wanted to create a healthier alternative to your typical sugary sports drinks. The word “hydrade” is an amalgam of the phrase “hydrating aid.”

Made with natural products, One Ten Hydrade is dye-free, but don’t expect it to be clear. The colors in each flavor come from the addition of vitamins, which provide a natural dye. This discovery was something of a happy accident but the creators decided to run with it.

Mean Tangerine, Intense Grape, Limitless Lemon Lime and Persevere Punch are some of the drink’s flavors, which are available in two options. One is made with cane sugar and the other is a zero-calorie option sweetened with the natural sweetener Stevia.

Vitamins B12, B2 and B6 are included in the products and this is exciting because, as women, we could all get a few more vitamins in our system. With all the recent studies being done about the dangers of artificial chemicals and additives, it's refreshing to have another option.

We know how important it is to make healthy choices for ourselves and our families. It's hard enough to maintain our busy schedules, plus fit in a workout regimen we can stick to. One Ten Hydrade offers a healthy option that will replenish our bodies and taste great at the same time. We’re sure it's going to be hugely popular!

Power of the Purse, Crunching the Numbers

The recent recession has negatively affected many people, but things have slowly been bouncing back. According to a December 2010 report from Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, women’s earning power will recover from the recession much quicker than that of men. Here at FletcherPR, we’re firm believers in the power of the purse so we already knew that women make the majority of household spending decisions. But according to this report, the purchasing power of women will grow exponentially as they contribute more money to their households during these leaner economic times.

Her Happenings: Baseball's 1st Ladies Night

Baseball is known as our country's 'national pastime' and on this day in history, the New York Giants (now in San Francisco) took a giant step forward for women: hosting the first ever Ladies Night at the Polo Grounds where they played. This event, which took place in 1883, offered free admission to ladies as a way of encouraging them to attend a game. In recent years, professional athletics have come back around and are recognizing the important role their female fans play, but there was definitely a lengthy period in which sports were just for men. We think it's pretty cool that all the way back in 1883, marketing to women was a smart move!
